Run for the Ribbon

Sunday, May 16, 2010 - Minnehaha Park

The Run for the Ribbon is one of very few 4-mile races in the state and is an opportunity for you to obtain a personal record in this rare course length. The funds raised by the Run will support the Minnesota AIDS Project's ongoing work to stop HIV in Minnesota through advocacy, education, and service. The event takes place on the same day as the Minnesota AIDS Walk where thousands of supporters gather in an exciting atmosphere to raise awareness about HIV.

Location and Time

The Run for the Ribbon begins at Minnehaha Park on 46th Ave and Mississippi River Blvd. in South Minneapolis. The route follows the scenic West River Parkway north to the Lake Street bridge where runners will loop and return up the parkway to the finish line in Minnehaha Park. The Run begins promptly at 9:00am.

All runners are expected to be prepared by start time—please ensure you arrive early enough to pick up your number and begin running at 9:00am.

Fees and Fundraising

Pre-registration: $25/runner*
Day of Race: $30/runner*

The online, pre-registration deadline is 8:00am Central Time on Thursday, May 13.

* Registration fee includes a Run for the Ribbon t-shirt.

Though fundraising is not required, we encourage you to join or form a team to help raise money for the Minnesota AIDS Project (MAP) through the collection of pledges much like our walkers. A team can consist of both runners and walkers and is a terrific way for participants to come together in the fight against HIV. Once you are registered and have a profile with MAP, you have access to all the features of the Minnesota AIDS Project Website including the personalized pages and fundraising tools. Incentive prizes are available for various levels of donations collected.

T-Shirt and Bib Pick-up Times

Each runner will receive a numbered bib and a Run for the Ribbon t-shirt. Please pick up your bib prior to the run (7:30am - 9:00am) and retrieve your t-shirt after you finish the Run.
