Expanded Chemical Health Services Now Available
Minnesota AIDS Project and Hennepin County Medical Center have recently received funding to extend chemical health services. These programs will accept referrals for HIV-positive individuals needing assistance with chemical health care. Christine Kerno, LICSW, is MAP’s Chemical Health Assessor/Coordinator and Kim McKnite, LADC provides these services at Hennepin County Medical Center. Chemical Health services at either location provide the following services for individuals who are HIV-positive and income eligible:
• Chemical Health counseling • Rule 25 assessments and re-assessments • Placement into treatment facilities • Planning and coordination of aftercare services
Individuals needing this service do not need to be receiving any other service at MAP or at HCMC’s Positive Care Center to access Chemical Health Services.
For more information, contact Christine Kerno through the MAP AIDSLine at 612-373-2437 or Kim McKnite through Hennepin County Medical Center’s Positive Care Center at 612-873-9043.
This program is made possible through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006, and administered by the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department.
